OPERATION BUFFALO WARRIOR

The 17th Infantry Regiment Association provides active duty service members and their families with much needed support. Operation Buffalo Warrior was created for Association Members and friends of the 17th Infantry Regiment to donate funds to support the two active battalions of the 17th Infantry Regiment. Your donation will help soldiers that are either serving in the states or in Afghanistan. This is an important function of the Association and we've been supporting these young soldiers for many years and your contribution will help fund activities and programs that directly impact these young soldiers and their families. Below are only a few examples of the ways the Association has supported these warriors over the past several years.

  • Christmas Tree program for soldiers serving in Afghanistan. When a battalion is deployed in a combat zone the Association purchases and sends up to 20 pre-lit Christmas trees to the troops. This enables every platoon and command to have Christmas trees for the holidays.
  • Care packages for wounded soldiers and their families. In the past the members of the Association have visited wounded soldiers and their families and in some cases, provided gift cards and provisions for them while they recover in institutions like the Walter Reed Facility.
  • Battalion Balls and Ceremonies. The Association has helped support single soldiers during battalion functions such as "Homecoming Balls, etc." by paying for their dinners during these functions. We also help pay for wounded soldiers travelling from Walter Reed Hospital in Washington DC to Ft Lewis, Washington for the 1-17 Infantry 2010 Homecoming Ball.
  • Ek Buffalo Commando Knife Program. The Association presents one knife per Battalion for the Enlisted and NCO of the Year for each battalion.

Your gift is fully tax-deductible. The 17th Infantry Regiment Association is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation. The 17th Infantry Regiment Association has not provided any services or items in return for this contribution.
